F138 - An exhibiton of photography by Steve Gostling |
|
Celebrated
photographer, Steve Gosling, will be presenting f138, an exhibition
of pinhole photography, at the Joe Cornish Gallery, Northallerton running
from
Based in North Yorkshire Steve specialises in producing creative and contemporary images of the natural world. This distinctive exhibition presents images produced with a handmade wooden & brass pinhole camera and captures locations in and around North Yorkshire on black and white film. The simplicity of this equipment and the removal of colour have encouraged him to concentrate on line & shape and light & shadow. Photography reduced to its raw essentials. Why f138? This is the fixed aperture of his pinhole camera, giving a large depth of field and resulting in very slow shutter speeds – both combine to create these unique images. To launch the exhibition Steve will be giving an informal talk on Friday 17 March 7pm – 9pm about his approach to creative landscape photography and his pinhole project. There is no cost to attend but places are limited, please call the Gallery to check ticket availability. In addition Steve, accompanied by Joe Cornish, will be running a one-day photographic workshop on Saturday 18 March. A maximum of 12 participants will meet at Northallerton for a briefing before setting off for a shoot at Fountains Abbey. Open to all levels of photographer. For full details, availability and cost please contact Clare Moore, Joe Cornish Gallery T: 01609 777404. SUMMARY EVENT:
