About
Guy Glorieux |
An
economist by training, Guy Glorieux has been involved with the practice
of photography for the past 35 years. He studied photography at Ryerson
University in Toronto and Concordia University in Montreal. His
fascination for the beauty and softness of ancient photographs has led
him to move away from modern high-tech cameras and lenses in favour of
vintage cameras with much softer optics.
Eventually he replaced the lens altogether with a simple pinhole
on a piece of brass shim and he now works almost exclusively with this
process. His
work has been exhibited in the United States and Canada and can be found
in several permanent collections, among them the Hungarian Museum of
Photography. He has
authored an Artist’s book entitled “Faim de Tout”. Guy
Glorieux is a co-leader of the coordinating team of the 2nd
Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day.
His
work can be seen on several internet galleries, notably: The
Pinhole Visions Gallery: “fragments…
dreams…” http://www.pinholevisions.org/exhibits/Glorieux/ Mémoire
